The history of Vladimir Chemicals Plant dates back to October 1932. The biography of the plant started on the dye works basis named after “the Pravda”. This decision was confirmed by VCNH Decree dated 13 September 1931 “On the Plastics Plant Building in the City of Vladimir”. March 1932 – a new viscose manufacturing shop for bottle caps instead of pricey corkwood caps was put into operation. As well as that, manufacturing of various boxes and tubes for medical, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics industry was launched. 1933 - Consumption goods production was launched. Billiard balls, powder boxes, buttons, brooches, cigarette holders and bracelets were made of plastics-neoleikotit. 1935 – Asphalt accumulator box manufacture was launched. 1937 – A manufactory of phenol-formaldehyde resins and faolit on their basis was launched. 1941 – The first Russian manufacture of soft cable compound, alcohol resins for aviation and molded articles technology was opened. 1945 – The first amino plastic lot was released. 1947 – Molded vinyl plastics production was launched. 1948 - Master program plan of the enterprise development was approved. The 50s turned out to be the years of growth and development of the plant: 1953 - Foam plastic manufacture was launched; soft cable compound shop was modernized. As a result, simultaneous sequence production of soft cable compound began. 1954 – The first stage of acetyl cellulose manufacturing was launched. 1955 – Alongside with new production facilities we erected social sphere buildings: the children’s health pioneer camp “Penkino” was opened. In the 60s, the plant management together with the leading specialists reconstructs and modernizes the acting фаолит, foam plastic, cotton gin and vinyl plastics production facilities. Their production became continuous. Such a turning point made the plant leader in the chemical industry. Its Director, at that time, Mr. Alexander Fedorovych Borodetskiy did his best to update and upgrade the productive capacities and develop social sphere of the plant. Under his guidance a medical unit, a few nurseries and infant schools as well as recreation centre named “Chemist” were opened. 1960 – Large-size glass fiber plastic articles production was launched. In the early 70s, the plant was modernized: 1975 – The first Russian PET polymer and PET films from 6 to 250 micrometers thick production based on the technology and equipment of the British company named “ICI” was launched. Within this period, on agreement with German Democratic Republic, a new calendering line for PVC film production (used for food stuff and medication packing) in Shop 04 of the plant was installed. In the early 80s, a new Swiss “BUSS” line for soft cable compound (form. OM-40) was installed in the soft cable compound shop of the plant. 1981 – Our plant celebrated its 50th anniversary. It was awarded the Red Banner of Labour for its major contribution to the development of plastics industry in Russia. 1992 – State Enterprise “Vladimir Chemicals Plant” was reorganized into “Vladimir Chemicals Plant” Joint-Stock Company. 1994 – New types of products were released:
1995 – A new warehouse for PVC storage was opened. 1997 – Under the contract with the German company “Carbotex”, a new line to produce nitrogen gas was assembled; the first local computer network for 75 working places was installed. 1997-1998 – Production of new types of soft cable compounds such as incombustible NGP 40-32, plastic compound V3 – filler for cable inner lining with 50 percent filling, heatproof oil and petrol resistant plastic compound for Autowires IT-105, etc was launched. 1998 – We have launched:
2000 – Information controlling system ICS “Finance” providing general accounting of all financial activities of the enterprise was installed. A new quality system satisfying the requirements of the international standard ISO 9001 was developed, installed and certified. Within the bounds of the International Programme “Partnership for Progress” for sustainable development of fabrication facilities, high quality of goods and qualified management “Vladimir Chemicals Plant JSC” was awarded the following prized:
In the year 2000, our enterprise was named “Enterprise – 2000”. In April 2001, Coordination Committee of the International Programme “Partnership for Progress” awarded a personal “Director of the Year-2001” medal to Mr. Lev Nikolayevich Malyshev, General Director of “VCP” JSC. The plant was awarded a special prize “Golden Standard” which is considered to be a symbol of reliability, stability and success. 5 October 2006 - “VCP” JSC celebrates its 75th anniversary. “VCP” JSC today is a sure-footed, rapidly developing product company solving many arising problems. Vladimir Chemicals Plant increases its productive capacities and volumes of output putting a greater emphasis on the quality of manufacture. Our plant manufactures a wide range of chemical products: PVC plasticizers, plasticizer-free sheeting and granulated materials, polyethylene terephthalate films, polyethers, fiber glass articles. These are the main types of our products. The sphere of their application is very wide: from cable and automobile to food and building industry. One of the long-term goals of “VCP” JSC is to arrange a closed technological cycle starting with raw material release and ending with finished goods manufacture. We have already done the first step to it: not long ago “VCP” JSC bought a production site in the city of Dzerzhinsk and started to produce raw materials for shop floor production. It is just a beginning of long-term plan on transforming “VCP” JSC into a vertically-integrated company. Awarding Information
